Covid-19 Laboratory
Health Sciences - Central London
Health Services Laboratories (HSL) engaged KB Architects during the 2020 Covid pandemic to design and deliver a surge laboratory to service the government’s (DHSC) latest plans to expand Covid-19 testing facilities across the country. The team were appointed to provide both Architectural and Project Management services which allowed the team to prioritise design packages in line with the procurement pressure and time frames. The design team’s knowledge of the existing building and client’s requirements allowed the team to commit to a fast paced programme of 12 weeks from inception to handover stage. The team were very proud be involved with the design and delivery of this critical project.
“ HSL engaged KB Architects to provide a design concept and deliver a Covid-19 Surge testing laboratory on level 9 of the Halo Building in the middle of the pandemic. Given the nature and the importance of the project we set the design team very tight timescales for the design, delivery and execution of this critical project to our business and the health of the nation. HSL were extremely impressed with the attitude and the ‘can do’ mentality of the architectural team who led the design and project managed the delivery of this critical project on time and on budget. The KBA team were a pleasure to work with and rose to the challenge of delivering an exceptional project within a very tight timeline. We have already engaged KBA for further projects within our laboratory network. ”
